Micheal Burton, The MJ

Michael Burton is the editorial director of The MJ, the weekly news magazine for local government and the author of The Politics of Austerity: A Recent History (Palgrave Macmillan, November 2016). He has been writing and commenting on local government and the public sector for over 25 years as editor and since 2011 editorial director of weekly magazine The MJ (Municipal Journal) and its portfolio of associated local government titles and events including themj.co.uk, HealthMJ, The MJ Future Forum, The MJ Awards and LocalGov.co.uk. His first book The Politics of Public Sector Reform from Thatcher to the Colaition (Palgrave Macmillan) appeared in 2013.

David Wilson, Fosway Group

Founder and CEO of the Fosway Group, Europe’s #1 HR Analyst and major commentator on the HCM, talent and learning technology industry David is a strategic advisor to many major corporate and supplier organisations in the UK and Europe and personally leads Fosway’s HCM and Talent research and corporate advisory agenda. He is the author of over 150 research papers and articles on HCM, talent and learning technology and innovation, as well as being a leading speaker at major conferences in the UK and Europe.

Dr Henry Kippin, West Midlands Combined Authority

Director of Public Service Reform at the West Midlands Combined Authority Henry has a 15 year career developing public service policy and practice with a wide range of organisations, including HM Government and the United Nations. His role with the Combined Authority is to reform the way public services are delivered across the region and ensure they address and develop key elements of the WMCA agenda such as employment & skills, mental health, helping individuals with complex needs, and criminal justice.

Karen Dumain, Do OD

Karen joined the NHS Leadership Academy in 2013 and works nationally and regionally to develop leadership and organisational development capability across the NHS. Working in partnership with Paul to lead and develop Do OD, Karen has worked in OD and leadership roles in primary care, acute and social care at a local, regional and national level.

An ever learning OD practitioner, Karen passionately believes in the value of OD and the resources and talents of the NHS OD community.

Nigel Carruthers, LGA

Nigel has worked for and in local government for over 20 years. He is the Senior Advisor for Workforce Strategy leading on engagement, performance management, resourcing and talent management for local government nationally. The role provides advice, guidance and practice support to councils in England and Wales. Current activities focus on improving manager and employee performance, organisational re-design and improving workforce efficiency and productivity.

Perry Timms, PTHR

Perry is an international and TEDx speaker on HR and the future of work and he wrote the e-book “HR 2025” and was a featured author to the 2 successful “Humane Resourced – Book of Blogs”​ compilations. He is a guest write for a range of online HR and Work publications and journals. October 2017 will see Perry published by Kogan Page with the book “Transformational HR”.
